Wyższa Szkoła Biznesu i Nauk o Zdrowiu in Lodz, Poland was founded as a result of the decision of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education from 21st September 2006. For the last over decade the Academy permanently develops and broadens its offer; focusing on the high quality of education, learning a profession in a practical way, successfully outstripping the competition. Candidates from the whole region and even from the most remote parts of Poland come to study at the Academy. Cooperating closely with the best academic teachers and professionals – practitioners – in the field of medical sciences, pedagogy and psychology we have managed to build an Academy where currently almost 600 students are learning on the first and second degrees of studies and the same number again on postgraduate studies. Excellent reception among professionals resulted in the offering to students’ syllabus, which is designed to convey to the Graduates not only the necessary theoretical and encyclopedic knowledge but first of all to make them prepare for the future career. The Academy is offering also modern teaching facilities. It has at its disposal fully-equipped laboratories: cosmetology lab Klapp, podology lab Podopharm, massage lab Habys, make-up and styling lab, food technology lab and chemical lab. Comfortable interiors of teaching premises bring out pleasant aesthetic feelings and encourage to work. Well-known and reputable companies in the field of medicine, cosmetology and health, scientists and practitioners regarded as authorities in their fields, are our partners in education. The Center for European Educational Initiatives is an all-academy organizational unit established in May 2011, whose aim is to support and stimulate the processes of sustainable development of a modern and open society. CEIE deals with the initiation of partnerships and agreements aimed at social integration, promotion of participation in social and public life of children, youth and adults, especially 50+ and development of volunteering, through the organization of training, workshops, seminars, conferences, debates and other forms of education. The aim of CEIE is to equalize access to education, active participation in social life and development of key competencies determining the development of a society based on knowledge and people’s activity. CEIE cooperates with local and regional authorities, non-governmental organizations and european educational and training institutions supporting science and education. The priority is to use modern technologies in the process of developing educational instruments and to disseminate and implement good practices.
